Pokemon X and Y Details

Pokemon X and Y is a game for the 3DS that has been announced by the President of Nintendo, Satoru Iwata. The game is being designed and programmed by GameFreak Co. and was announced on January 8th, 2013. It is set to be released in late-October. 

Pokemon X and Y is to host a whole bunch of new features, including a huge new 3D world to roam in. This is a first in the series, and the result will be very interesting.

Routes will start from 1 and onwards. The reason for this is because the player will most likely be exploring a place based in Europe. The new 3D view allows you to see trainers and nearby cities/mountains/caves from a decent distance.

Gameplay will be the same usual turn-based battles, but there will be a twist. The arena that you battle in is in 3D, and the action scenes are more...action-packed. Pokemon from all 5 previous generations will appear in this game as well as the new generation pokemon. Speaking of the new pokemon...

These three pokemon above are the 3 starters for X and Y. Going from left to right, Froakie, Fennekin, Chespin. Froakie is a water type frog, Fennekin is a fire type fox, and chespin is a grass type...beaver? They all have 2 more evolutions, but those weren't shown to us.

The pre-battle is different than all pokemon battles in the past. Grass shakes by, and you meet a pokemon. It is said that there will be a bit of a different way to level up (grow with) your partner. This may mean using him/her more in your battles, keeping them in your party, or maybe giving them lots of items. We can't know until later unfortunately.

Bridges with dynamic cameras will be used, as you can see in the picture above. My overall impressions on this game are incredibly good, and this game is definitely in my top 5 games list for this year. I absolutely can't wait for this, and I hope you have the same opinion as me! There will be a couple more screenshots below!

Note: The two star legendaries for X and Y have been revealed. Their names are Yveltal and Xerneas. Yveltal is the flying red bird and Xerneas is the shining cyan buck.
